『彼女の小宇宙 / her microcosm』
親の世界と子供の世界にどんな接点があるだろうか。
子供ができてから、私の世界の中に新しい存在が現れました。小さな丸のようだったそれは、時間と共に少しずつ大きくなり、中に別の世界ができているようです。その住人は成長と共に自我を持ち、せっせと彼女の世界を作っています。
生まれて初めて目にする物、周りの大人や子供たち、植物や動物、絵本やアニメのキャラクターなど、最初はこれらが無秩序に転がり広がっていたであろう彼女の世界。描く絵や粘土の形に現れ、言葉や行動などは年齢ごとに変化しています。
記録のように目の前の存在をただ撮ってきた写真は、その変化が見えると同時に、複雑な味のするお菓子を食べたような感覚を運んできます。
折り紙や工作を一緒にやってきた子供と写真制作を一緒にやってみようと思っていました。今回は少し大きくなった子供と、彼女が作ったものや、撮って選んだ写真も交えて制作しています。
この展示で、想像・日常生活・平面・立体物・時間などが交差するイメージ空間を表現できたらと思います。
How are the world of the parent and the world of the child connected?
When I gave birth to my baby, a new being appeared in my world. It was like a small ball, but it grew little by little over time. It seems that another world is being created inside it. As the inhabitant grows, she gains a sense of self and is busy creating her world.
Her world was probably chaotic with things she saw for the first time when she was born: the adults and children around her, plants and animals, characters from picture books and anime, etc. These things appear in the drawings and shapes of clay she makes. Her words, actions, and body expressions change as the years go by. The thousands of photographs I took of her and the things surrounding her show the changes, and at the same time, they also bring me a feeling of eating a sweet with a complex taste.
At some point, I wanted to try making photographs together with my little one. I had already been making origami and crafts with her. Now that she has grown a little bigger, we have begun creating some objects to photograph. For this exhibition, we selected some of these photos to project on the wall. Here, I hope to create a space with these photos where stories, everyday life, images, objects, and time resonate with one another.
